On November 21st, at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, we were present at RALF – Romanian Agriculture Leadership Forum, the place where the elite of Romanian agriculture gathered under the theme “Team Agriculture”. For the Consultech team, it was an extraordinary opportunity to engage in dialogue with farmers from the Romanian agricultural sector. If you could not attend, here are the main ideas we returned with from the event.

1. Farm resources must be viewed “with another pair of eyes”

The central moment of our participation was the presentation by Cristian Papaianopol, CEO of Consultech, during Session II. The message conveyed was simple, yet essential for the future of farms: changing the definition of the term “waste”.

In a context marked by climatic challenges and legislative pressures, agriculture becomes truly sustainable (and profitable) only when by-products, whether we are speaking of manure or plant residues, are no longer viewed as a logistical problem we need to get rid of, but as a valuable, underexploited resource.

The discussion quickly moved from vision to applied solutions, demonstrating how technology can transform this economic principle into immediate reality.

2. Integrated solutions: Biogas, biomethane, and co-products

The interest of participants, farmers and processors alike, confirmed that the market is looking for interconnected systems. At our stand and during the sessions, the debates focused on three clear directions, supported by our partnerships with technology leaders such as Flottweg, Huber, HRSValmet:

  • Biogas & biomethane:There was intense discussion about closing the nutrient cycle. Farmers were interested in how they can transform manure and plant waste into green energy and organic fertilizers, thereby reducing dependence on external chemical solutions and generating additional revenue.

  • Redefining the fodder industry: Another important subject on the agenda was the valorization of co-products from food processing. We analyzed how meals, oil cakes, or bran can be reintegrated as premium raw material, avoiding waste.

  • Water efficiency (ZLD): In the context of drought, technologies that allow achieving the goal of “Zero Liquid Discharge” were recognized as critical for the long-term resilience of farms.

3. Agriculture is a “team sport” (“Team Agriculture”)

Perhaps the most valuable lesson from RALF 2025 was that of collaboration. No farm can become circular on its own, and no technology works without the farmer’s vision. As discussed at the event, collaboration becomes essential when challenges increase. Our role, at Consultech, is to be the technical teammate that comes with the right solution to help you achieve your productivity and resilience goals.

We left RALF 2025 with a reserved but solid optimism. There is openness, there is technology, and, most importantly, there is the will to do things better. We thank the organizers for creating this space for dialogue and all the partners who visited us. For us, RALF 2025 does not end here. We remain present to transform the discussions we had into concrete projects, whether we are talking about technical audits or the implementation of complete processing lines.

See you at the next edition, but until then, see you in the field!
